Passed suddenly away, Roderick (Rod) Paul Banton of Hearts' s Content, age 54.
Predeceased by his father Windross Banton,  brother Darren Banton and brother in law Anthony (Tony) Piercey.
Leaving to mourn with the happiest of memories his long time partner Darlene Piercey, son Jordan (Amanda) and treasured grandson Eli, his "daughter he never had" Tiffany Legge (Tim) and Brandon Groves. His cherished and adored mother, Greta Banton and partner Jim Pike, his dear parents in law Rex and Jennie Piercey, brothers Windross Jr. Banton (Judy) and Brad (Sherry), sister Angela (Darryl). Also his sisters in law Wanda (Glen), Eleanor (Barry) and brother in law Keith (Jeannie) and a long list of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Rod was a proud long serving member of the Canadian Coast Guard having just received his Exemplary Service Medal for 30 years of service. Rod had a strong love for the ocean and being outdoors, which he shared with his companion and best friend, Darlene. He contributed tremendously to the community with his gift of music every chance he got. His warm presence and contagious smile will be forever in our hearts. Resting at Green's Funeral Home, Winterton. Visiting hours Friday 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Saturday 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Sunday July 30th at 2:00 from Trinity United Church, Winterton with cremation to follow.
