Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday April 26, 2025 surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with cancer, Rex Allan Smith of New Perlican, age 71 years.

Predeceased by son: Rex; grandbabies: Peter and Jessica; parents: Henry and Vera; parents-in-law: Silvanus and Bertha Seward; brothers-in-law: Billy Seward, Max Butt, and Wayne Gosling; sisters-in-law: Olive Smith and Linda Gosling.

Leaving to mourn, loving wife of 49 years: Angela; son: Jeremy (Terri Lynn Clarke); daughter: Sherrylee Smith (David Powers); grandchildren: Jonathon (Kaylea Gertridge) and Eve; brother; Randy (Brenda); sisters: Trudy Butt and Arlene (Bruce) Clarke; brother-in-law: Eric (Emily) Seward; also a large circle of other relatives and friends.

Special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, Health Science Centre St. John's and Carbonear General Hospital. Also a big thank you to everyone for their love, support, and generosity over the last couple months.

He was a very special man to us and we'll never forget him.

Visitation at Green's Funeral Home, Main Road, Winterton on Wednesday, April 30 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, May 1 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Friday, May 2 at 2:00 p.m. from Green's Funeral Home, Main Road, Winterton. Interment in the Anglican Cemetery, New Perlican.
