Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family at the Health Science Centre, St. John's on Monday, July 27, 2026, Michelle Denise Short of Heart's Content, age 57 years.

Predeceased by grandparents: Herbert and Minnie Balsom; George and Edith Baker.

Leaving to mourn, parents: Robert and Georgina Balsom: partner: Walter; children: Samantha (Tyler) and Benjamin; their father: Donald; step-children: Caitlin (Jordan) and Christopher (Alannah); her 7 step-grandchildren; sisters: Lori (Blair) and Heather; nephews: Gavin and Simon; nieces: Sophie and Gia; also a large number of other relatives and friends.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation and thanks for the tremendous care and treatment provided to Michelle by the nurses, staff and physicians of the ICU. Special thanks to Dr. Lee, Dr. O'Brien, and Dr. Powell. The compassion and concern shown by everyone will never be forgotten.

Visitation at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Heart's Content on Monday, August 3 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, August 4 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Mary's Anglican Church, Heart's Content.
