Harold was a devoted community advocate, having spent most of his lifetime involved with volunteer committees that gave back to his hometown. He was most proud of the time he served as a volunteer firefighter and fire chief. He was involved in the development of many projects around Winterton, including the Outside Pond RV Park, Sugarloaf Trail and various community enhancement projects over the years. He loved the time he spent on the water as a fisherman and always had a story to tell and a smile to share. A friend to everyone he met, he will be forever missed.
Extending a special thank you to his home care worker, Sandi Coates, and to the close family and friends that showed up to help with Harold's care at home. The family could never repay you for the compassion you showed during your time spent with him. Thank you to the medical staff at the Health Sciences Center and Carbonear General Hospital who helped him tremendously during his last few months.
