Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Nursing Home, Carbonear on Sunday April 13th, Gordon Banton of Winterton age 94 years. Predeceased by wife Olive. Leaving to mourn his children Daphne Piercey (Charles), Shirley Abbott (Joe), Flossie Coombs (Nick), Ruth George (Ken), Cecil (Sherry Tizzard) and Dawn Weaver (Bruce). Grandchildren Michael Piercey (Heather), Drew Abbott (Mary Jean), Paul Abbott (Marsha), Tina Snow (Mark), Nicole Harris (Sheldon), Laura Coombs (Adam Johnson), Krista George, Adam George (Vanessa), Mark Banton, Shawn Tizzard and Warren George. 13 great grandchildren. Sister Annie Green (Jehu deceased) 2 sisters in law Annie Banton and Greta Banton. Also a large circle of nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. Resting at Green's Funeral Home Winterton. Visiting hours Monday and Tuesday 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. from Trinity United Church, Winterton. Interment in Trinity United Cemetery, Winterton.
