GEORGE EDWARD JOHNSTON July 6, 1940 - April 4, 2016
George Edward Johnston (Age 75) passed peacefully away in the presence of his dearest friend at Carbonear General Hospital. Formerly from Hamilton, Ontario, George made New Perlican his home in 1999, where he lived each day in his own special way with his adored pets. George found his way into many hearts and leaves behind a large circle of special friends. Predeceased by his mother, Leona Langman, and left to mourn with fond and cherished memories are his loving friends Bill and Gail Power; Courtney, Andrew, and Layla Harris; Candace Power and Josh Smith; special friend Raymond Pitts; and lifelong friends Steve and Maggie Simpson and their family, Ken and Corina (Emily, Jessica, Hanna, & Kara), Matt and Livia (Lillian, Lyndsey, Steven), and John and Justin, in Hamilton, Ontario. George also leaves behind his most beloved companions, his dogs Maggie and Loonie, cat Susie, and Goose. They meant the world to him, and him to them. Cremation will take place as George requested and there will be a celebration of his life on Thursday, April 7th, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Green's Funeral Home in Winterton. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory may be made to the Baccalieu Trail SPCA.  "The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life."
