Obituary

Clara Eloise Piercey (nee Green), of Winterton, Trinity Bay passed away peacefully at Pleasantview Towers in St. John's on February 21. Born on October 22, 1938, in Winterton, Eloise was the beloved first child of Sarah Maud and James Green.

Eloise was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Mark in 2019. Also predeceased by her brothers-in-law Leander Piercey and Edward Burry, her sister-in-law Elizabeth Burry and her former son-in-law Gary Bradshaw.

She was dearly loved by and leaves to mourn two daughters; Janet Bradshaw (Scott Schillereff) and Jennifer Langdon (Jason), three granddaughters; Leslie Bradshaw (Erin Wells), Andrea Bradshaw and Rachael Langdon, brother Allan Green (Nancy) and five nieces and nephews; Heather Noble (Kerry), David Burry (Aoife), Stephen Green (Jill), Kimberlea Green (Eric Hurlburt) and Julie Green in addition to a very large circle of friends.

Mom grew up in Winterton and moved to Toronto as a young woman where she began a career in banking. She was a dedicated employee of RBC for 36 years, serving for many years as Senior Loans and Mortgage Officer in Gander and finishing her career as Branch Manager in Heart's Content. She led a full life, blending a successful career with raising a family and supporting her church and community. Mom's work ethic was admirable, showing diligence and dedication in everything, she tackled. Throughout her life she was known for kindness, strength, humour and generosity. Always willing to help where she could, Mom was a true friend to many. Above all, Mom treasured her family. She took great pride in her daughters and granddaughters, collecting newspaper articles and mementos and building scrapbooks of their career, educational and athletic accomplishments. Mom loved to bake and she made sure to have her granddaughters' favorite foods prepared when they would visit. We are sure we will never top her macaroni and cheese or Christmas cookies and cakes.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of 2 North West, Pleasantview Towers for their compassionate care since 2023.
