Obituary

April 25, 1949 - May 31, 2020

Passed peacefully away at his beloved home, Curtis James Burrage (Jimmie) age 71 years, in the presence of his loving sister Rosalind, brother George and niece, Lori (baby). Predeceased by parents Albert and Edith Burrage, sister Stella Burrage, brothers-in-law Percy Critch and Roy Dwyer, and special nephew, Mark Burrage. Leaving to mourn with fond memories, siblings Irene, Rosalind, Rhoda (Carman), and George. Large circle of nieces, nephews, and extended family. Special friends, Shirley and George Sharpe.

Born on April 25, 1949, Jimmie held a special place in the hearts of his parents and siblings. From the very beginning, they knew he was special. He could be seen playing with trucks, catching grasshoppers, or playing with stickers. In his life, he often could be seen walking with his sister, Stella. In recent years, he would sit and watch the cars and trucks drive by. Always a friendly smile and a gentle wave of his hand to passerby.

He loved all animals, and had a special fondness for cats, dogs, birds and turtles (Tom). Because of his deep affection for living creatures, donations in his memory will be gratefully accepted to the SPCA. Donations will also be accepted to St. Augustine's Anglican church cemetery fund. He had an inquisitive mind, a wonderful sense of humor, and a kind and gentle manner. He will forever be remembered by his family, friends and all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
